7 years...
7 years ago today I boarded a plane to New York City. Justin and I had been married for a day, and were on our way to our honeymoon.
Last night I sat at a family picnic for Elizabeth's preschool. The last hurrah of the year. She starts kindergarten in 3 months.
If you had told me on that plane that I would be at a preschool picnic with a 5 and 2 year old in 7 years I would have laughed in your face. If you had told me it would have been in Pennsylvania I would have known you were crazy. It made me wonder what God thought last night, and if he ever chuckles at my "well-made" plans.
My friend did a really cute countdown on her 9 year anniversary. I thought about trying to copy it, but it didn't really work for me. So indulge me and join me as I reminisce about the last 7 years.
In the last 7 years:
We have lived in 6 cities.
In 4 different states.
We have lived with both sets of parents.
We lived with plastic forks, and camping chairs for furniture.
We have had 2 kids, and 1 more on the way.
We have had 2 hospitalizations not kid related.
We bought a house.
We bought a dog.
We have survived medical school, and 1 year of residency (almost).
It's been a crazy, busy, wild and unforeseen 7 years, but God has blessed us and sustained us through it all. We have learned a lot, laughed a lot, cried a lot, and grown a lot. Thanks be to God for being faithful. And thank you Justin for sticking by my side, I wouldn't have done it with anyone else!
